About Us

Journalists Association Against AIDS (JournAIDS) is a local Non-Governmental Organization which was established in 2003 and works in thematic areas of sustainable development using an integrated approach.

The organization operates across four themes of TB/HIV integration, population dynamics and climate change, Non Communicable Diseases, Gender and Human Rights. The organization is registered under the Trustees Incorporation Act under the laws of Malawi and is a member of Malawi Health Equity Network (MHEN), Civil Society Organization Nutrition Alliance (CSONA), International NCD Alliance and Malawi Network of AIDS Service Organizations.

The organization works using advocacy, lobbying, awareness raising, research and capacity building to deliver in the themes of development. The organization collaborates with civil society organizations, media houses, UN agencies, World Health Organization, Ministry of Health (NCDs sub-technical working group), Ministry of Economic Planning and Development (Population and development technical working group) and the Youth Consultative Forum (YCF).

The organization works with development partners such as TB Alert (United Kingdom), World Diabetes Foundation (Denmark), Population Action International (United States of America) and the European Union (Head of Delegation—Malawi).
